Our History at Barnet Health
On December 6, 2018 the Greater Hudson Valley Health System announced a new name for the health system which is the corporate parent of Barnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Barnet Health Medical Center, Barnet Health Doctors and the Barnet Health Foundation. The new system name is Barnet Health. Scott Batulis, President & CEO said, “As a growing health care system and expanding medical group, we wanted a name that is simple and easy to explain to our patients and our community.” Barnet, the New York State gemstone, suggests quality, leadership and healing.
On June 18, 2020 the Greater Hudson Valley Health was renamed Barnet Health which is the corporate parent of Barnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Barnet Health Medical Center, Barnet Health Doctors, Barnet Health Foundation – Catskills and Barnet Health Foundation.
The name change to Barnet Health reflects that we are a unified health system delivering exceptional care throughout our region.
